隨著跨國婚姻的增加，使得臺灣社會文化趨向多元豐富，在臺新住民人數已達57萬餘人，而影響新住民在臺生活是否適應良好，與新住民的中文能力有極大關係。移民署多元文化種子講師陶氏桂，看見同鄉的需要，因此錄製中文學習影片，分享在Youtube平台，讓移工及新住民朋友可以上網觀看學習中文，協助同鄉適應及融入在地生活，為在異鄉拚搏的移工及飄洋過海來臺的新住民盡一己之力。
陶老師來自越南，結婚來臺已14年餘，本（111）年透過移民署「新住民多元文化人才培訓計畫」取得多元文化種子講師資格。她是移民署北區事務大隊花蓮縣服務站的通譯，同時也是花蓮地檢署司法通譯。在服務過程中，她深深感受到學習中文的重要。陶老師分享自己服務移工通譯的案例，現在有許多雙薪家庭將照顧長輩的責任交給移工，移工不要照護他們的生活，甚至還要帶他們看醫生，因中文聽、說能力欠佳，醫生、護士的交待根本搞不清楚，結果，讓老人家吃錯藥而掛急診，移工承受了許多壓力。自己初來臺，也曾因不懂中文，讓她極不適應，現在，她也總是勉勵周遭的新住民要不斷地自我學習，中文一定要通、要熟，才能融入在地生活並獲得他人的尊重。

陶老師看見同鄉的需要，自己編寫中文教材，錄製中文學習影片，跳脫傳統課文模式，教導內容貼近生活，如最基本的日常生活用品、對話，讓新住民及移工更易學習。目前已錄製十集影片放置Youtube平台（https://youtu.be/bb1k4QAoEGc），有學習需要的移工及新住民可以上網學習。
有句話說：「親不親，故鄉人」，同鄉人總有一份特殊情誼，陶老師表示，來到臺灣，受到許多人的幫助，點滴在心頭，從受助到自助再助人，她會繼續錄製中文學習影片，讓越南同鄉不用出門，即可在家上網輕鬆學習中文。移民署花蓮縣服務站也非常肯定陶老師的努力，邀請其擔任本（111）年9月份新住民家庭教育課程的講師，希望其將自己在臺的努力故事，分享給初來乍到的新住民，讓大家活用中文，順利融入臺灣新生活。
